Happy faces on first day at school
It was celebration time in Bodakdev School as the tiny tots joined the school for the new academic session on 1st April,2019,
With anxiety writ large on their faces, the tiny tots entered the schooling phase of their lives. The school wore a cheerful look as students headed towards their classes in their new and tidy uniforms. Teachers had decorated the school walls with activity based games and creative bulletin boards, etc to cheer up the tiny tots and create a pleasant and cordial atmosphere for them while they walked towards their classrooms with the parents. A wide range of fun-filled creative activities was planned for their first day. They also took a walk around the school to get to know the campus. The children received a warm welcome from the school and the management.
World Banana Day
Bodakdev School celebrated Banana Day recently. Daddies of Playgroup were invited to celebrate the day with their tinytots. Our daddies and tiny tots came dressed in yellow. The day started off with a morning assembly wherein daddies and kiddos took part.
The first activity was chopping bananas wherein our little ones chopped bananas with the help of their daddies, then they also made yummy banana wafer topppings with the help of their daddies. After that, they made yellow headbands(wrist bands) with their daddies. finally the day ended with banana race. It was a memorable day for the little ones as they spent quality time with their daddies in the school. Our daddies thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. Check out the pictures to see our parents and little ones in action
International Dance Day
Last day of the school before the summer break was memorable for our little ones as they celebrated International Dance Day on the campus. This day is celebrated every year on the 29th of April, the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre who is the creator of modern ballet.
Tiny tots of all the sections came dressed in their party outfits and grooved on the foot tapping music along with their teachers and friends. Celebrations like these in a preschool promote the importance of teamwork as they start to help each other with learning and practising the steps.
Our little ones tried to match their actions with their teachers and friends. The entire school campus was bubbling with energy, enthusiasm and excitement.
World Autism Day
Students and staff of Bodakdev School for Children’s Special class Sparkles celebrated World Autism Awareness Day for the first time. To help promote this event, staff members created autism awareness material which was displayed in the school. Ms.Shreenal conducted a session with the pre-primary teachers to raise awareness of Autism. The staff and the heads of the school too participated in ‘Light It Up Blue’ campaign by wearing blue, decorating the school in blue, and doing all things ‘blue’ on World Autism Awareness Day. The occasion was graced by the Executive Director of the school Mr MananChoksi. On this day, the school spread Adele Devine’s message, which is, “Children with Autism are Colourful they are Often Beautiful, and Like the Rainbow, they Stand Out”
Field trip to Sundervan
Toddlers of Junior KG and Senior KG recently visited Sundervan, a mini zoo located in the western part of the city. The mini terrarium is home to a large variety of birds including Emu, Turkey and Ducks.
This visit was planned, to give them a better understanding of the varied habitat and the differences between birds, animals and reptiles. It was a unique experience for our pre-schoolers as nowadays children usually see everything on television and books. In the end, toddlers spent quality time with their friends in the playing area at Sundervan.
Sensory Walk- Exploring the Sense of Touch
Sensory experiences are an essential part of child development, but many sensory activities only utilise the hands. A sensory walk is a great way to explore the sense of touch, especially for toddlers. Our feet are just as sensitive as our hands, and this activity allowed children the experience of learning, exploring, and feeling with their feet.
Bird Feeder Activity
As summers are approaching, our tiny tots of Playgroup (Early Child Care) made small bird feeders using old plastic bottles. To make them look attractive, they painted the bird feeders in orange colour. They will keep the feeders in the balconies of their homes and fill in water for the thirsty birds. The little munchkins promised their teachers to take care of thirsty birds this summer.
How big is our Universe?
We nurture in children an ongoing love and curiosity about the things around them so that they remain conscious about the world. Hence ‘Universe’ day, was celebrated at Bodakdev School.
Our little ones gleamed with joy on seeing the nine planets hanging from the ceilings. Children jumped in excitement as they counted stars from the walls of their classrooms. A huge cut-out of an astronaut was placed in a corner. Our enthusiastic teachers shared new facts on the Universe and the Solar System with their little darlings. This activity would inspire them to learn more about the universe and would satiate their curiosity on the Universe.
